Leo New Moon
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” Marianne Williamson
With the Sun and Moon conjoined (together) in Leo, and Leo ruling the Heart, the message of this New Moon eclipse is one of heart connection and expression.
It’s a time to attune to your inner sun, the energy of your own innate fire, the passion of your heart and soul and to give yourself permission to shine the great bright light that you truly are.
“If there is to be peace in the world,
There must be peace in the nations.
If there is to be peace in the nations,
There must be peace in the cities.
If there is to be peace in the cities, There must be peace between neighbours. If there is to be peace between neighbours, There must be peace in the home. If there is to be peace in the home, There must be peace in the heart.”
― Lao Tzu
To bring peace to the world, we must find peace in our own hearts.
This eclipse asks us to forgive ourselves and others for all action and word, that has not been guided by love,
It’s a time of re-set and a time to align ourselves in and with love.
The greeting “In Lak’ech Ala K’in" means “You are another me” or “I AM another you”. The traditional Mayan interpretation is more simply “I am you. You are me.”
It can also be used to greet the morning sun, as gratitude for water, and for every other element and sentient being on the planet.
The Hindu version of Namaste derived from Sanskrit, is similar, with a common definition of “the light in me honours the light in you” or, “I bow to the divine in you”.
the longer translation of “Namaste” is ~
I honor the place in you where Spirit lives I honor the place in you where the entire Universe resides I honor the place in you which is of Love, of Truth, of Light, of Peace When you are in that place in you and I am in that place in me We are One.
It is timely to reflect on the truth of our connection, to our own Divinity and to each other, as One.
"When we live from In Lak’ech Ala K’in we are putting to use our natural ability to create our reality. We are affecting the collective consciousness of humanity in a positive way. The Cosmic Maya, also known as the “Star Elders” or “Invisible Council” understood this natural power to create their reality”. Tony Gray Owl - Cherokee Shaman
How might you be using, or misusing your own power?
The Tarot card, Strength is associated with Leo. In it we are shown the aspects of self, those of being human, animal and divine. It represents our innate animal nature and our ability, with love and maturity, to tame this instinctual side.
Meditating on this card can assist the process of honouring and experiencing the inherent strength within our Being.
The lion in the Strength card symbolises our animalistic nature, our power and our passion. The maiden symbolises purity and the opportunity to 'tame' the animal within, with gentleness, love and compassion. As we learn to master our instinctual behaviours, thoughts and emotions, we are then able to harness this great power within. An additional message of this card is that the lower physical nature can be tamed with the awakening of spiritual wisdom and intuition. The inner voice can sometimes be diminished by a more dominant noise of ego and fear. Creating an inner stillness gives us an opportunity to create the silence needed to hear the inner voice of the heart. Conquer your fears and follow the voice of your heart, connect to the energy of your passion, Braveheart!
The energy of this card is of self mastery, A higher level of consciousness is available to us, allowing us to take responsibility for self, as a sovereign being. As you master yourself, you master your world.
I would like to offer a prayer from Tony Gray Owl ~ Native American, Cherokee Shaman ~ as a meditation for this Leo New Moon.
Centre yourself with gratitude for your breath, without it, there is no life.
Be grateful for 3 long inhales and 3 long exhales.
Breathe in new life, exhale all that is old and stale.
Then gently recite and feel the energy of this prayer.
