Pisces New Moon - Solar Eclipse

"A human being is part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. We experience ourselves, our thoughts and feelings as something separate from the rest. A kind of optical delusion of consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from the prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. We shall require a substantially new manner of thinking if mankind is to survive.” - Albert Einstein (Sun in Pisces)

Pisces is the sign of the mystics and seers, the poets, dreamers and artists. It’s the realm of illusions and mental breakthroughs, of visions, intuition, psychic powers, dreams, madness and genius, poetry, creativity and magic!

This Neptune ruled moon invites us to connect to the poetry of the soul via art, music, dance, painting or meditation... whatever takes you into your Bliss.

At it’s highest potential, to heal mind, body and spirit.

I tend to think of eclipses as the Wild Card’s of astrology with this one offering us great potential for InSPIRITion, creativity and healing.

It’s a most powerful time to dream and/or meditate on what will set your soul alight with passion and to bring your vision forth into the world.

“Our life is composed greatly from dreams, from the unconscious, and they must be brought into connection with action. They must be woven together. ” Anais Nin

Unsurprisingly, Anais Nin whom I looked to for a quote to sum up this piece, had both her Sun and Venus in Pisces and with her Mars in Libra, she was most definitely a lover and not a fighter! and so I offer some more of her writing to you as it speaks the language of Pisces so poetically.

“I am an excitable person who only understands life lyrically, musically, in whom feelings are much stronger as reason. I am so thirsty for the marvellous that only the marvellous has power over me. Anything I can not transform into something marvellous, I let go. Reality doesn't impress me. I only believe in intoxication, in ecstasy, and when ordinary life shackles me, I escape, one way or another. No more walls.”

We may firstly need to ask ourselves, if the life we are living is currently inspiring and fulfilling us - or if we might be feeling numb and working on auto pilot. The latter can have us escaping through unhealthy distractions and/or addictions to drugs, including sugar, alcohol and other “legal” drugs e.g. anti-depressants, or compulsive behaviour such as shopping, gambling, sex, internet and overeating. This is potentially a good time to identify and name your poison. If these are present in your life, it’s an excellent time for a de-tox, if you need some assistance, it may be the right time for you to seek a compassionate therapist.

From another Piscean, Albert Einstein, "The significant problems we face can not be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them.”

"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.”

NOW is the time to draw a line in the sand of what was and reimagine ourselves into our most soul-full expression.

The tarot card for Pisces is The Moon.

The Moon is the card of feminine intuition, dreams and the subconscious. Many shadows can appear in it's light and the path leading us from the unconscious mind toward higher consciousness can be uncertain. We must therefore rely solely on our intuition and our own inner light to guide the way. On this path we may experience fear, think “monsters under the bed” or “the woods on a dark night”, often based on past experiences. The images, thoughts and feelings that have often been repressed, now resulting in anxiety and/or fear. Once they have been brought into awareness and shown the light of day, they can no longer haunt us.

Intention Activation

You may like to lay down for this one.

Take 3 long, slow, deep breaths into the womb/hara (both men and women have this powerful energy centre of creation),

Imagine you’re walking into in a beautiful, clear, natural pool of water.

You may now like to visualise yourself floating in this clear and calm pool.

Feel the water cleansing you from the outside in, and the inside out.

Feel yourself completely relaxing, knowing that you can take as much time as you need in this pool and that you will not be interrupted.

Allow yourself to let go of all thought, knowing that you are completely safe.

You might now feel you’re in the great cosmic womb and fully connected to the energy of the Cosmos.

Allow yourself to drift and dream.

Drink in the InSPIRITation.

When you’re ready to leave the pool, feel yourself completely refreshed and revitalised.

Know that you can return here at any time.

Say a prayer of Gratitude to the Water - the great elixir of life.

Sing a prayer of Love to yourself and all Creation.

Fill yourself with a further 3 long breaths to complete your meditation.

This is a wonderful time to work with the element of water to detox. I love an epsom salts bath with a handful of salt and another handful of bi-carb soda. If you’re in a warmer climate and anywhere near the ocean this would be an amazing time to make the best of it with a swim and/or float. A flotation tank would also be a beautiful way to make the most of this energy.

Finally, I would like to leave you with this, wirtten by John Chapman (1774-1845)

Dear Kate,

Here’s to the crazy ones.

The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers.

The round pegs in the square holes.

The ones who see things differently.

They’re not fond of rules.

And they have no respect for the status quo.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them,

disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them.

About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them.

Because they change things.

They invent. They imagine.

They heal. They explore. They create. They inspire.

They push the human race forward.

Maybe they have to be crazy.

How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art?

Or sit in silence and hear a song that’s never been written?

Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels?

While some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.

Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world,

are the ones who do.

Take care,

John Appleseed
